The Best was begun over dinners in a loft in Bushwick, Brooklyn, four years ago in anticipation of the war in Iraq. While the war continued, so did our revolutionary fervor. Constantly incorporating current events, our ensemble, together with our growing audience, continued to play with the multifaceted experiment of The Best. Expressions of The Best have ranged from environmental installation-like theatrical runs to one night gigs in rock venues. The Best has played theaters all over this fair city of ours including: OfficeOps, The Chocolate Factory, Galapagos Arts Space, Ars Nova and The Makor. With the addition of our live band, The Best has found a niche in NYC's gritty club circuit with the raucous audiences it found there. In early spring of 2006, The Best rocked The Pyramid Club in the East Village with it's workshops of "OEDIrx" and "OEDI@:us." It was during this period that The Best was booked to present an installation in the "Neuropolis Festival" in Berlin and to perform live in "The Brisbane Festival" in Australia. Performing where the toilets flush in the opposite direction was a blast but AnEn is glad to be back on home turf and thrilled to have the opportunity now to fill The Ohio with The Best.
